NCIS fans spot plot hole after location error in Season 5 premiere

NCIS fans are patiently waiting for the time when an 18th series of the show will air, and until then they’ve been having fun watching back older episodes. However, eagle-eyed viewers have now been watching the show with much more attention to details and it’s highlighted a few plot holes in certain seasons. Yep, fans looking back at season five of the hit detective drama spotted a location error which took place during the season premiere. Oops! Possibly due to the budgetary restraints in the earlier season, one fan pointed out there was a pretty striking error in the episode titled, Bury Your Dead.

During a slow-motion sequence, the skyline on screen didn’t actually match the location in which the action was meant to be taking place. According to Express.co.uk, the viewer posted: ‘During the slow motion sequence in DC, landmarks from Los Angeles are in the background.’ Photo Taken In United States, Los Angeles A shot in season five featured the Los Angeles skyline (Picture: Getty Images) Photo Taken In Washington, United States, D. C. But the show is actually set in Washington DC (Picture: Getty Images) Indeed, at the time the show was set around the coastlines of Washington DC with NCIS: Los Angeles spin-off airing on CBS a year later. The location error was most likely due to the fact the original NCIS series was mainly shot in Santa Clarita, California.

NCIS – Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the team Gibbs would be proud of the super sleuth fans spotting errors in old episodes (Picture: CBS/Getty Images) This is why Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs and his team never seem to visit any prominent Washington hot spots throughout the series. The premiere managed to get away with the error by thrilling fans with shocking twists, including the death of series nemesis La Grenouille (Armand Assante). The plot hole comes after eagle-eyed viewers noticed another error from Season Four. Ducky’s dictaphone skills left little to be desired as fans pointed out he would have actually jeopardized the whole mission

In fact, fans aren’t completely sure that Ducky even knows how to use the device, as they spotted him holding it incorrectly in another shot.
